Company Background

United One traces its roots back to 1918 as a non-profit, merchant-owned credit reporting company in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Focusing on personal customer service to local credit grantors and financial institutions, the company slowly grew for the next sixty years. Known as the Credit Bureau of the Wyoming Valley and then United Credit Bureau Services, in 1974 the company became affiliated with Experian Information Services (then TRW) as consumer credit reporting became automated with the use of computer technology.

Gradually, the company began to add to its menu of solutions as the needs of its customers grew. By adding mortgage credit reports, courthouse record services and flood zone determinations to its product offerings in the late 1980s, the company began to focus more on real estate transactions.

Under the leadership of current Chairman and CEO, Louis J. Cesare, the company began an unprecedented period of growth by providing flawless risk management information services and personal customer service to our customers. With the addition of title insurance and settlement services in 1994, the company began providing commercial and residential title insurance for both purchase and refinance transactions to lenders across the state.

In 1997, Chairman and CEO Louis J. Cesare formed a group of investors and purchased United Credit Bureau Services, forming United One. Since the purchase, United One continued its long history of unprecedented growth through flawless risk management information services and personal customer service.

As we look beyond, we see great opportunity to help our customers in unprecedented ways. Our vision of becoming the definitive source for every lending decision will push us deeper into our customers operations.
